Another year, the pique among your friends is assured. The contests of murgas, comparsas and rondallas leave you in the middle of passionate discussions about who has the most critical lyrics, the most spectacular choreography or the best musical arrangement.
 Beyond the competition, the objective of all the groups is to fill the streets of Tenerife with the best rhythms and the liveliest dances.

Groupings

The groups of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have been growing and improving at the same time as the party.
 The colorful comparsas; the murgas, with their satirical songs and their cane and cardboard instruments; and the rondallas, the oldest and most traditional of the party, are the protagonists of the party.

Contests

The different groups of the Carnival are presented every year to different competitions, divided into several phases that both participants and the public who go to see them live with real passion.

Essays

The participation of the different groups in the competitions is prepared almost a year in advance. Long before the Carnival goes out and the Fairground sees its biggest galas, the city buzzes in the rehearsals of the murgas, parades, rondallas and musical groups.

During the year prior to the celebration of each event, the groups compose lyrics, design voices, prepare choreographies and rehearse in secret with the aim of surprising later with the most ingenious criticisms, the most rhythmic dances and the most harmonious arrangements.
